FAQ

Please see below for some of our frequently asked questions.

How long will it take to frame my picture?

If you select one of the mouldings we hold in stock, (and there is approximately 100 to choose from) the normal turn-around time is a week. However, if needed we can frame items much more rapidly than this because our workshop is on the premises. If we need to order your moulding, the typical turn-around time is 2-3 weeks. We will always do our utmost to get your work framed as soon as you need it.

Do you stretch canvases?

We do stretch canvases, and we also apply varnish to paintings prior to framing if requested.

Do you clean and repair works of art?

We have art conservators who will carefully restore your artwork to the highest standard.

Do you mend frames?

We will replace glass and/or mounts in your existing frame, put new hangings on the back and finish in the professional manner, but we do not mend broken or damaged frames.

Do you sell mounts (or mats)?

We will cut a mount to the size you need to fit your own frame and picture. You can take the mount away and assemble it yourself, or one of our framers will assemble it for you, finishing off the back to the trade standard. We do not stock ready cut mounts.

Do you sell ready made frames?

We hold in stock a selection of standard sized ready made frames. We do not sell clip-frames.

What is the cost of framing a football shirt?

The average price for framing a full sized football shirt in a suitable moulding is £250. This cost covers the extensive work involved in presenting the shirt to its best advantage, mounting it within the frame, and the necessary box frame techniques used in the process.

Do you buy second hand originals or limited edition prints?

We don’t buy items from the general public, we only deal with publishers or selected artists.

Do you give discounts?

Our pricing system has to cover all our costs involved in running a retail business in the town centre and employing people who will help you make an informed decision to make the most of your artwork. To this end, our scale of charges for framing is finely tuned. So for one or two framing items, we cannot offer discounts. But for larger quantities, we have a discount structure.
